Man Found Hiding in Shed After Fleeing Stolen Vehicle in Elmhurst

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst police officer identified a stolen Ford Fusion traveling on IL Route 83 Monday night.  The attempted stop intensified as the car darted into Riverside Drive, Villa Park, and the driver, Maurice Sutton Jr., 31, of Hanover Park, reportedly fled on foot.

According to Elmhurst Police reports officers along with Villa Park Police deployed a K-9 unit and a drone, led to Sutton Jr.’s discovery, hiding inside a resident’s shed. Seized from the car were an extra set of license plates and a replica pellet pistol. 

Sutton Jr. now faces charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, but awaits his November 13 court hearing.
