ST. CHARLES, Ill. – A 61-year-old man was killed on Main Street Tuesday while riding his bike.
According to police reports, the bicyclist, identified as Rafael Hernandez-Villa of St. Charles was struck around 9:08 p.m. and later died from injuries after he was hit by a 2021 Jeep Wrangler on the 1300 block of W. Main Street. Early investigation reports attributed the accident to Hernandez-Villa allegedly riding westward without illuminated lights or reflective attire and without a helmet, turning into the Jeep’s path.Â
He was promptly rushed to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where he later died. The Jeep’s driver remained unscathed.
