Oak Park, IL – Dart Container is set to enhance the environmental efforts in Oak Park by supporting a free paper shredding and foam recycling event on Saturday, April 20, 2024. This initiative, held at the Village of Oak Park Public Works Department, offers local residents a practical solution to responsibly dispose of sensitive documents and recyclable foam materials.

The event will feature services like secure shredding of papers that contain personal information—such as medical records and financial statements—limited to two bags or boxes per household. It also addresses the recycling of foam products that are not accepted in the village’s single-stream recycling program, such as food packaging and medical coolers marked with the No. 6 symbol.

This service is part of a broader series of recycling efforts across Illinois, aiming to provide convenient disposal options for items like electronics and hazardous waste throughout the spring and summer months.
