Chicago Man Arrested on Murder Charges Following I-57 Stabbing

Chicago, IL – A 39-year-old Chicago resident, Benigno Ramirez-Moreno, has been arrested on alleged murder charges by the Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation. 

According to Illinois State Police, the arrest follows a stabbing incident that occurred on November 8, 2023, near Interstate 57, southbound close to Harlem Avenue, Forest View, IL. ISP troopers responded to the scene and discovered a 41-year-old woman with life-threatening stab wounds. She was promptly transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to injuries sustained in the attack.

After a detailed investigation, Ramirez-Moreno was identified as the suspect and subsequently arrested on November 14, 2023. 

Ramirez-Moreno is awaiting a detention hearing. The ISP underscores that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
