COVID-19 vaccine human trials begin this week, UK officials announce

UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced researchers will begin human trials on a possible COVID-19 vaccine  on Thursday at Oxford University.   

Johnson & Johnson had announced March 30th it was expected to initiate human clinical studies by September 2020.  The UK announcement advances the human trials timeline by nearly half a year.

Trials to date have reported mixed results without any outstanding possible drug candidates to date.
