601 Cases in Illinois Tuesday, 7-Day positivity rate holds at 2%

Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced 601 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 38 additional confirmed deaths.

Among today’s new deaths announced included one woman in her 60s from Kankakee County and two women in their 70s and 80s in Will County.

IDPH is reporting a total of 137,825 cases, including 6,707 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.  Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 20,507 specimens for a total of 1,399,510.  The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 16–June 22 is 2%.
