Two hair stylists at the same Great Clips have tested positive for COVID-19 while “potentially directly exposing” at least 140 people.
A hair stylists first tested positive on Friday after going to work for eight days while showing symptoms of the disease. She saw 84 clients and interacted with seven employees during that time.
Saturday, 56 additional names were added to that list, according to the city of Springfield Health Department. Both stylists and clients were wearing masks at the time of the cuts. The second stylist went to work at least five days while “experiencing very mild symptoms.”
Great Clips has not responded to media responses as of Sunday. The salon closed after the first stylist tested positive for COVID-19 for sanitation and deep cleaning, according to the co-owners told a local TV station.
City officials continue to trace contacts of both stylists. Other workers have tested positive in the city working at a variety of location, including Wal-Mart, Dollar General and a local gym.
