Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant welcomes everyone to the county’s upcoming recycling and reuse event, “Recyclepalooza,” on April 1.
The event requires appointments due to its popularity in recent years, and people can make appointments in 15-minute increments at willcountygreen.com.
The event will accept a range of items, including electronics, household chemicals, hazardous materials, scrap metals, foam plastics, and wood for recycling. Books, clothes, small home goods, food pantry items, toiletries for US trips, and animal shelter items will also be accepted for donation and reuse.
The event will take place at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, but only those who register ahead of time and receive an appointment will be permitted. Will County has partnered with ShareFest of Will County for this collection event.
Will County is also hosting two other electronic and hazardous waste collection events on May 6 in Homer Glen and May 13 in Wilmington.
Appointments are required for these events as well. No appointments are necessary for the Shorewood event on April 8, which is an electronic collection event.
“Recyclepalooza” is an excellent opportunity for residents to responsibly dispose of their waste and contribute to the environment’s sustainability. More information on the accepted items can be found at willcountygreen.com.
