Naperville Police Arrest Carbondale Man for House Break-In

NAPERVILLE, IL – Naperville Police Officers responded to a house break-in on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, and arrested Kurtis M. Clausen, 43, of Carbondale, IL on allegations of breaking into the home.

According to police, the homeowner, who was not present at the time, called the police after alarm activations and spotting an unknown vehicle in their driveway.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a shattered glass door at the rear of the house, indicating an intruder had entered. They secured the area and called for backup before entering the home to search for the intruder.

While officers were announcing their presence, Clausen exited the premises without incident. Clausen has been charged with Residential Burglary, a class 1 felony, and Criminal Damage to Property, a class 4 felony.

It’s unknown if Clausen had any ties to the homeowners or community. 

The incident highlights the importance of home security and prompt reporting of suspicious activity to the police. Homeowners are encouraged to install security systems and report any unusual activity in their neighborhoods to the police immediately.

Naperville Police Department is currently investigating the incident and is urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
