NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Eziz Serdarow, a 19-year-old Naperville resident on a student visa, appeared in bond court after being accused of indecently soliciting a 12-year-old girl.
Authorities say Serdarow allegedly sent unsolicited text messages August 4, 2023, enticing the minor with explicit content and suggesting a meeting for sexual acts. The victim promptly informed her parents, who contacted Lisle Police. Despite the police intervention, Serdarow allegedly persisted, sending graphic messages and discussing plans for a sexual encounter.
Lisle Police apprehended Serdarow on August 10, 2023, when he arrived at a local park for the planned rendezvous. A subsequent search of his vehicle reportedly yielded condoms and lubricants.
Serdarow now faces charges of Indecent Solicitation of a Child (Class 1 Felony) and Traveling to Meet a Minor (Class 3 Felony) and is being held in $100,000 bond.
Community members are reminded of the need for conversations about online safety between parents and children. Serdarow’s next court appearance is scheduled for September 18.
