Lake County, IL – This Saturday, Lake County’s community spirit will shine at Gerhard’s Elegant European Desserts, as the Lake Forest Police Department unveils a new Autism Awareness car magnet.

The event, part of the department’s annual outreach, invites supporters to enjoy fine pastries and hot beverages in the brisk weather, while contributing to a vital local cause. With each purchase of the commemorative magnet, 100% of proceeds will go directly to the SEDOL Foundation, enhancing their pivotal work in autism education.

The SEDOL Foundation’s programs in Lake County are lauded for providing specialized educational opportunities to young individuals with autism, aged 3 to 22, facing diverse challenges. Lake Forest High School’s West Campus proudly hosts a SEDOL education program, a beacon of the community’s commitment to building an inclusive environment.

The Lake Forest Police Department’s initiative not only aims to raise funds but also to deepen community awareness and understanding of autism. The department’s efforts signal a strong alliance with those impacted by autism, reinforcing the message that every contribution creates a substantial impact, fostering educational growth and social inclusion in Lake County.
