Joliet Junior College wins NJCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country National Championship

JOLIET – Joliet Junior College (JJC) took home NJCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country National Championship over the weekend in Iowa.

The meet took place in Fort Dodge Saturday afternoon when the Wolves beat out Kellogg Community College and Westmoreland College to clinch the championship.

Tiffany Lehmann scored a solo title with a 20:10 in the 5K finale, followed by Yesenia Suarez ranked 5th, Ivet Rosile ranked 12th, Erica Nuczyk ranked 15th, Marley Nicolettie ranked 25th, and Melanie Mascote ranked 29th.

The Men’s Team came in second to Mineral Area College for the Division III title.
It ended a monumental second season for Coach Jeff DeGraw, who coaches both Men’s and Women’s teams. Degraw had previously coached at Lewis University before arriving in Joliet.
