RENSSELAER — The community can breathe a sigh of relief as the subject of a massive manhunt and multiple charges, has been apprehended by the Rensselaer Police Department.

Earlier this month, police reached out via Facebook, seeking the public’s assistance in locating Bradley Reyes, 19, who was reportedly linked by police to various domestic battery incidents in Rensselaer. Among the reported incidents were several alarming confrontations involving the same victim — a young mother and her child. The most distressing of the incidents was reported on July 3rd, where Reyes allegedly barged into the woman’s apartment and assaulted her in front of her child.

Again, on July 7th, the victim disclosed that Reyes had trespassed her apartment, allegedly causing significant damage and leaving menacing notes. A city-wide hunt concluded on September 14th, with Reyes found asleep on a couch in the North Cullen area. His arrest unveiled a darker layer to his activities as a glass pipe containing Methamphetamine residue was discovered in his possession.

Now held at Jasper County Jail, Reyes faces a long list of charges, ranging from multiple felonies like burglary, domestic battery, and drug possession to misdemeanors.
