KANKAKEE, IL – A mysterious turn of events unfolded on Thursday evening when a car accident in Kankakee led to the sudden disappearance of an Illinois man.
Barry L. Brown, a 47-year-old resident of Kankakee, is currently missing after allegedly fleeing the scene of the crash on foot, leaving behind two young children securely fastened in their car seats.
According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at approximately 8:16 pm when authorities from the rushed to the scene near 4000 S River Road following reports of the accident. Two children were found inside the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital.
Their attention quickly turned to locating Brown, the driver of the car. According to law enforcement officials, it appears that Brown fled on foot shortly after the crash, prompting concerns about his current whereabouts and well-being.
Despite extensive searches in the vicinity of the crash site and at Brown’s residence, there has been no sign of him thus far. Descriptions indicate that he was last seen wearing a white shirt and camo pants, with several gold chains adorning his neck. It’s worth noting the crash occurred near a bend in the Iroquois River.
