Philo, IL – An Illinois woman had a miraculous escape when she managed to flee her car Thursday night just moments before it was struck by a freight train.

The harrowing incident occurred at a railroad crossing outside of Philo. The 59-year-old woman’s vehicle had become disabled on the tracks, prompting her to call 911. However, the train arrived before deputies could intervene. With the crossing’s warning system blaring, the woman made a split-second decision to abandon her car.

Seconds later, the train collided with the vehicle, engulfing it in flames. Remarkably, neither the woman nor the train’s engineers were injured.
