Scout participants will be appointed as mock village officials including: Mayor – Julia Simon, Village Administrator – Brody Meyers, Police Chief – Tyler Menard, Fire Chief – Elena Barton, Deputy Fire Chief – Cooper Austin, Finance Director – Nicholas Antognoli, Building Commissioner – Harrison Denault, Public Works Director – Luke Cresswell and Community & Economic Development Director – Darren Boothe.
Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais and Bourbonnais Township Park District welcome the fourth annual Chocolate Tour on Saturday, February 1, 2020. 350 participants will explore Village of Bourbonnais businesses while indulging in sweet treats at each location from noon to 5 p.m. Those who visit 36 of the 40 business stops are eligible be entered into a grand prize drawing for a 14k rose gold chocolate quartz necklace, courtesy of Andaul Jewelers. A new runner-up prize includes a 55” 4K Smart TV provided by the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival.
“We look forward to offering this free and fun activity for residents and visitors every year,” expressed Mayor Paul Schore. “As long as the weather cooperates, bring your skates, bundle up and safely enjoy the outdoors.”
The survey has been developed to provide community members with an initial opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions on what they would like to see as part of future improvements. It should take approximately ten minutes to complete and will be available for two weeks. There will be additional opportunities through open house events and a second online survey to vote on plan concepts derived from these engagements.
Bourbonnais Police is partnering with the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement across Illinois for the increased statewide effort. The high-visibility traffic safety campaign will run from November 22 through the holiday weekend into the early morning hours of December 2.
A limited 350 tickets provide participants an opportunity to embark upon a decadent journey to Bourbonnais businesses for an afternoon of indulgence in sensational treats. With an event passport in hand, chocolate-goers receive a stamp at each area business for a chance to win the Chocolate Tour Grand Prize.
