Friday Night Lights Fest Tonight

Later tonight, the community-wide pep rally known as Friday Night Lights Fest will celebrate the return of the 17th Chicago Bears Training Camp held in Bourbonnais since 2002 that starts next week.

The Kankakee County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Board elected new officers during its annual meeting on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The 11-member board is represented by the County of Kankakee, City of Kankakee, City of Momence, Village of Bourbonnais, Village of Bradley, Village of Manteno, Bourbonnais Township Park District, Kankakee Valley Park District, Kankakee County Lodging Association and Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce.

Cemetery Walk coming August 25th

"Voices of the Past" Cemetery Walk brings the fascinating history of Kankakee County to life. Participants who visit Mound Grove Cemetery will get a guided history lesson as they are led to grave sites of former residents, portrayed by actors in period costumes, and share something of their lives and times.

City Of Kankakee To Refund Bonds

During the July 15, 2019 city council meeting, the city council voted 13-0 to approve the refunding of general obligation and sewer bonds which total approximately $975,000 in savings to the City of Kankakee. Alderman Larry Osenga (R-3) was not in attendance.
