Village Partners with Community on Campus Plan
The survey has been developed to provide community members with an initial opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions on what they would like to see as part of future improvements. It should take approximately ten minutes to complete and will be available for two weeks. There will be additional opportunities through open house events and a second online survey to vote on plan concepts derived from these engagements.
Kankakee Public Library hosts BACHELOR NATION NIGHT
The Kankakee Public Library is hosting Bachelor Nation Night at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18 – a behind-the-scenes tell-all event with exclusive insider information and details that only show alumni can tell you! Cast members Amber James and Liz Sandoz will provide fun stories and memories from their time filming The Bachelor. Former Kankakee local Amber James, now a Chicago resident, starred on Chris Soules’ and Ben Higgins’ seasons of The Bachelor, as well as season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise. Liz Sandoz was on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor and also now lives in Chicago.

Through a partnership with AMITA Health St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee Public Library is now hosting aRegistered Nurse (RN) in the library. Access to the compassionate help you deserve is now just as easy as checking out a book!
Kankakee Public Library and Fortitude Community Outreach January Donation Drive
The Kankakee Public Library and Fortitude Community Outreach needs your help! We are seeking specific donations to help the homeless in our community. Fortitude is a homeless outreach program who seek to help the neediest in our community by partnering with local churches and agencies to deliver food, clothing, information and moreon a weekly basis.Each month, the Kankakee Public Library will have a donation that targets specific items to donate to help others within the community. January’s item is quality adult-sized gloves.Fortitude is asking for sturdy gloves, not the knit kind, that can withstand very cold temperatures.
Parkhurst’s Blood Drive Set for January 17th
KANKAKEE—State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) is hosting a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. The event is Friday, January 17th from 1:00—5:00pm at the Kankakee Public Library, 201 E. Merchant Street, 4th Floor.
