Sumter: Rembert Man Arrested Following Joint Drug Investigation

Sumter, SC – A Rembert resident is in custody following a significant law enforcement operation conducted by local and state agencies. On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of David Faulk, who is now facing a series of serious drug and weapons charges stemming from a cooperative investigation.

According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, the arrest was the result of a joint operation conducted alongside the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, known as SLED. The investigation concluded with authorities successfully executing a search that led to the discovery of a substantial cache of illegal substances and hardware. Officials confirmed that the law enforcement effort resulted in the seizure of nearly 50 pounds of marijuana and a quantity of suspected oxycodone pills.

In addition to the narcotics recovered during the operation, investigators reportedly seized four firearms from the suspect. Among the weapons recovered, officials identified at least one firearm that had been previously reported as stolen. The recovery of these items served as the basis for the additional weapons-related charges leveled against the suspect.

Following the formal processing of his arrest, David Faulk was presented before a magistrate for a bond hearing. According to the news release provided by the sheriff's office, the presiding judge denied bond for the suspect. Faulk remains in custody as the case proceeds through the legal system. The joint investigation involving the Sumter County Sheriff's Office and SLED highlights the ongoing efforts of local and state authorities to address the distribution of illicit substances and the prevalence of stolen firearms within the region.
