OH Crash: Multiple vehicles involved on US 36 Wednesday morning

Gettysburg, OH – A major four-vehicle collision occurred on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in the 9200 block of US 36. Authorities were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:43 a.m. to coordinate emergency response efforts involving Gettysburg Fire, Gettysburg Rescue, and Bradford Rescue teams.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office, the incident began when a white 2026 F250, operated by 39-year-old Chuck Fry of Gettysburg, Ohio, traveled west on US 36 and crossed the center line. The truck reportedly side-swiped a 2026 Freightliner driven by John Gibson, 34, of Piqua, Ohio. Fry's vehicle then continued west and allegedly struck a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Clayton Glunt, 31, of Union City, Ohio, head-on. A fourth vehicle, a 2017 Ram driven by Sean Rouse, 36, of Greenville, Ohio, was forced off the right side of the road to avoid the collision.

While Fry, Gibson, and Rouse were treated and released at the scene with no injuries, the situation was more serious for others. Clayton Glunt and his passenger, Derrick Taylor, were transported to Wayne Healthcare with injuries suspected to be minor.

The accident remains under active investigation by local law enforcement. No further details regarding the cause of the crash have been released as officials continue to piece together the events of the morning.
