Kankakee Parks to Close for Regatta Weekend

Kankakee, IL – Residents planning to visit local recreation areas this weekend should prepare for upcoming closures. The Kankakee Valley Park District has announced that multiple parks and aquatic facilities will be off-limits to the public during the upcoming regatta.

According to the Kankakee Valley Park District, the closures will take effect from September 6, 2026, through September 7, 2026. The affected locations include Beckman Park, Beckman Boat Harbor, River Road Park, and the River Road Boat Launch. Additionally, the River Run Dog Park and Pirate Ship Park will be closed to visitors for the duration of the event.
