West Little Rock, AK – A law enforcement operation turned critical Tuesday morning in West Little Rock, leading to an officer-involved shooting that resulted in injuries to both an officer and a 53-year-old man.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division has taken the lead in probing the incident, which unfolded around 6 a.m. at 4 Durance Court during the execution of a federal search warrant by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

The confrontation led to Bryan Malinowski, 53, sustaining gunshot wounds. He was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital; his current condition has not been disclosed. An ATF agent also suffered a gunshot wound, described as non-life-threatening, and is currently under medical care.

The ATF, along with the Little Rock Police Department, has requested the involvement of the Arkansas State Police to ensure a thorough investigation into the events leading up to the shooting. The focus of the investigation will be to compile a detailed case file for the prosecuting attorney, who will determine the legality of the deadly force used in accordance with Arkansas law.
