Huntsville, AL – Residents in the Huntsville area should prepare for areas of freezing fog late Saturday night into Sunday morning, creating potentially hazardous road conditions. Those traveling early Sunday should exercise caution, especially on bridges and overpasses where ice could form.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing fog may develop after 5 a.m. Sunday, reducing visibility and making roadways slick. Calm winds and temperatures dropping to the mid-20s will contribute to the formation of icy patches. Drivers on I-565 and Highway 72 should plan for possible delays and allow extra travel time.

Sunday will see sunshine by mid-morning, with a high near 51°F. Winds will remain light, making for a pleasant but chilly afternoon. By Sunday night, temperatures will dip to around 30°F under partly cloudy skies.

The week ahead brings a warming trend. Monday and Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with highs reaching 60°F and 66°F, respectively. A slight chance of showers arrives by midweek, but sunshine will dominate most of the forecast.
