Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee remains under a Cold Weather Advisory as wind chills drop dangerously low before a warming trend this weekend. Residents should prepare for temperatures as low as 4 below zero early Thursday, with wind chills near zero again Friday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory stays in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday and will return from midnight to 10 a.m. Friday. Frostbite and hypothermia risks are high, and officials urge residents to limit outdoor exposure, dress in layers, and bring pets inside.
Thursday will remain chilly with a high of 24°F, but a gradual warming trend begins Friday, with highs reaching 34°F under sunny skies. By the weekend, temperatures will rise into the mid-40s on Saturday and upper-40s on Sunday, offering relief from the arctic chill.
Drivers should watch for icy patches on bridges and overpasses, especially overnight. The cold snap will break by early next week, with highs near 60°F by Tuesday.
