Paducah, KY – Flooding continues to impact western Kentucky early Sunday morning, with numerous roads closed due to excessive rainfall across multiple counties.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a flood warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. CST for Caldwell, Christian, Hopkins, Lyon, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Trigg counties. While rainfall has ended, emergency management officials report widespread flooding and road closures due to runoff from Saturday’s heavy rain.
Flooded areas include Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Princeton, Cadiz, Central City, and Fort Campbell. Recreational areas such as Land Between the Lakes, Hillman Ferry Campground, and Golden Pond Visitors Center are also affected.
Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads and heed road closure warnings. Authorities caution that most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. With reduced visibility at night, drivers should remain vigilant.
No additional rainfall is expected, but streams and rivers will continue to rise through the morning. Stay updated through local authorities for the latest road conditions and emergency information.
