Winter Storm in Utah: Snow to Disrupt Travel from Brigham City to Bryce Canyon Through Friday

Salt Lake City, UT – A winter storm is set to bring snow and hazardous travel conditions across Utah and parts of southwest Wyoming, with advisories in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday. Cities including Salt Lake City, Ogden, Logan, and Bryce Canyon are expected to see varying snowfall amounts, with some areas receiving up to 8 inches.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the storm will begin impacting northern Utah, including the Cache Valley and Northern Wasatch Front, by noon Thursday. Snowfall totals in these areas will range from 1 to 3 inches in lower elevations, with up to 6 inches possible in higher terrain. Meanwhile, southwest Wyoming could see accumulations of up to 8 inches, particularly in Uinta County.

Farther south, areas including Kanab and Escalante will see snow develop by late morning, lasting through early Friday. Higher elevations in Bryce Canyon Country could see between 4 and 8 inches, while lower elevations will likely receive up to 2 inches.

The NWS warns of difficult travel conditions, especially during the Thursday evening commute. In Salt Lake Valley, snowfall may transition to rain in lower elevations by the evening. Drivers are urged to slow down and check road conditions before traveling.
