Spokane, WA – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of eastern Washington and northern Idaho, with snowfall expected to impact travel conditions through Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a band of light snow will move through the region Thursday afternoon and evening, bringing up to an inch of accumulation. After a brief lull, snow will return Friday morning and continue into Friday night, adding another 2 to 4 inches in lower elevations and up to 6 inches in mountainous areas, including Lookout Pass.
The advisory covers Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Lewiston, Moscow, and surrounding communities, lasting from Thursday afternoon until either Friday night or Saturday morning, depending on location. Drivers should prepare for hazardous road conditions, especially during the evening and morning commutes.
Authorities advise slowing down and checking road conditions before traveling. Washington residents can visit wsdot.wa.gov/travel, while Idaho travelers can dial 511 for updates.
