According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday to 11 p.m. Friday for Southern Utah’s mountains, including Brian Head and Alton. Heavy snowfall of 10 to 20 inches is expected, with locally higher amounts up to 2 feet in the Tushar and Pine Valley Mountains.
Meanwhile, the Wasatch Mountains, Western Uinta Mountains, Wasatch Plateau, and Central Mountains will see even more snowfall, with 1 to 2 feet expected and some areas—like the Upper Cottonwoods and Bear River Range—potentially receiving over 3 feet. This warning extends through 5 p.m. Saturday.
