According to the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan, the warning covers Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, and Washington counties. The heaviest snow is expected Wednesday afternoon into the evening, significantly impacting the evening commute.

A separate Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Grant County in southwest Wisconsin and Clayton County in northeast Iowa, where 5 to 7 inches of snow are expected between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. Thursday. Snow will spread north from Iowa into Wisconsin throughout the morning, affecting travel along Interstate 90 and surrounding highways.
