Marquette, MI – Residents in Upper Michigan should prepare for frigid temperatures and lingering snow showers as the new week begins. Cold air will grip the region, with overnight wind chills dropping near zero and occasional snow showers adding to already slick road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will taper off Sunday night, leaving behind mostly cloudy skies and temperatures falling to 7°F. Monday brings a high near 19°F with mostly sunny skies, but wind chills will range between -5°F and zero. A few isolated snow showers may return Monday night as temperatures dip to 2°F.

Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs around 11°F and 17°F, respectively. However, wind chills will continue to make conditions feel much colder. By Wednesday night, another round of light snow showers may develop.

Drivers should be cautious, as icy roads and reduced visibility could impact travel, particularly in the mornings. Those spending time outdoors should dress in layers and limit exposure to prevent frostbite.

No hazardous weather is expected beyond midweek, but residents should stay updated on potential snowfall later in the week.
