Denver, CO – A winter storm is set to impact Colorado this weekend, bringing snow, gusty winds, and hazardous travel conditions across the mountains and Front Range. Travelers along I-70 and the high country should expect slick roads and reduced visibility through Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder, snowfall will begin in the Park Range late Friday and spread across northern mountains by the evening. Snow will continue overnight into Saturday before tapering off by midday. Gusty winds will create blowing and drifting snow, making mountain travel difficult.

Lower elevations, including Denver and Boulder, will see a mix of rain and snow Friday night, with temperatures dropping into the 30s. Saturday will be mostly sunny but colder, with highs in the mid-40s. Snow chances increase again Sunday night into Monday, with accumulation possible.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, especially on I-70 and mountain passes. Those heading to ski resorts should prepare for slow-moving traffic and possible chain laws.

Expect a cold start to next week, with snow chances persisting into Tuesday. Stay updated with local forecasts and plan accordingly for winter conditions.
