Spokane, WA – A mix of snow and freezing fog is expected to impact Spokane this weekend, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions across the region.

Friday morning will bring patchy freezing fog, particularly between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m., with temperatures peaking near 31°F. Roads are expected to remain icy, especially along I-90 and other major routes. Visibility could drop below 4 miles during foggy periods, and motorists should plan extra time for their commutes.

Saturday’s forecast includes a 50% chance of snow after 10 a.m., with light accumulation expected. Daytime highs will reach 33°F before dropping to 16°F overnight. The National Weather Service predicts snow accumulation of less than half an inch, but icy patches may persist due to freezing temperatures.

Sunday is forecast to be dry but cold, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 30°F. While snow is unlikely, the freezing temperatures will keep roads slick throughout the day. Sunday night lows will dip to 13°F, adding to the potential for icy conditions Monday morning.

Looking ahead, Monday will see partly sunny skies with a high near 28°F, but another round of freezing temperatures is likely overnight, dropping to around 3°F.

Residents should prepare for changing conditions and prioritize safety during travel. Those driving during early morning hours or after snowfall should reduce speeds, allow extra stopping distance, and ensure vehicles are equipped with winter tires or chains if necessary.

Stay updated by monitoring the latest weather reports and consider delaying non-essential travel during periods of freezing fog or snowfall. Additional snowfall could develop early next week, so continued caution is advised.
