Quincy, IL – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois until 9 PM CST Wednesday, with light freezing rain expected.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, affected areas include Adams, Brown, Knox, Lewis, Shelby, and Marion counties in Illinois and Missouri. Ice accumulations will be around a light glaze, creating very slippery roads and sidewalks.
Further south, a separate advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST for Greene, Pike, and Calhoun counties in Illinois, and Monroe, Ralls, and Audrain counties in Missouri.
Drivers should exercise caution, reduce speed, and check road conditions at gettingaroundillinois.com or traveler.modot.org. Power outages may occur if ice accumulates on trees and power lines.
