A winter storm will bring snow to central Minnesota and western Wisconsin overnight into Monday morning. Commuters should expect slippery roads and delays.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin late Sunday and intensify between midnight and 6 a.m. Monday. Areas across central Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin could see 2 to 4 inches of snow, with localized amounts reaching up to 5 inches. A sharp cutoff in snowfall is expected, with minimal accumulation south of Interstate 494.

A Winter Weather Advisory takes effect at 9 p.m. in central Minnesota and at midnight in western Wisconsin. Officials urge drivers to allow extra travel time and prepare for winter conditions.

Safety measures include checking vehicle readiness, carrying an emergency kit, and using headlights during snowfall. Road conditions are available at 511mn.org and 511wi.gov.
