Albany, NY – A winter storm will spread snow and ice across eastern New York and western New England overnight. Snowfall could impact the Monday morning commute, with totals between 1-4 inches in most areas. The Berkshires and northwestern Connecticut could see 2-5 inches.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Albany, snowfall will continue into early Monday. Light freezing drizzle may mix in some areas, increasing the risk of slick roads. A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the Berkshires, Litchfield County, and Herkimer County until 7 a.m.
The heaviest snow will fall in higher elevations, with road conditions deteriorating overnight. The Monday morning commute may be slow as snow and ice linger on untreated surfaces.
Officials urge drivers to use caution and allow extra travel time. Snowfall is expected to taper off between 4-7 a.m.
