Morgantown, WV – A winter weather advisory will bring significant snowfall to portions of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, impacting travel and daily routines until Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, the advisory remains in effect from 1 a.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday. Affected areas include Westmoreland and Fayette Counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Marion and Monongalia Counties in West Virginia, with total snow accumulations expected to reach 3 to 5 inches.

Hazardous conditions are likely on untreated roads, particularly in higher elevations such as Donegal, Ohiopyle, and Champion. Motorists in towns like Morgantown and Fairmont should prepare for slick roadways and reduced visibility, especially during early morning and late evening hours.

Residents are encouraged to monitor road conditions, limit nonessential travel, and allow extra time for commutes. The NWS advises reporting snow or ice accumulations through its hotline or social media platforms.

The advisory is expected to expire by 9 a.m. Monday as conditions improve.
