Spokane, WA – Light wintry precipitation is set to impact northeastern Washington and the Idaho Panhandle from late tonight into Thursday morning, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions. Forecasters warn of a mix of snow, drizzle, and freezing fog, with slick roads and sidewalks expected across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, precipitation will begin around 10 p.m. and continue through 8 a.m. Thursday. Accumulation will remain light, with snowfall under an inch, but freezing fog could reduce visibility for drivers along major roadways, including Interstate 90 and U.S. Highway 2. Motorists are urged to use caution during their Thursday morning commute, as untreated roads and bridges may become slippery.

The rest of Thursday is expected to clear, with partly sunny skies and calm winds pushing daytime highs to 37°F. Thursday night, patchy freezing fog will redevelop, bringing another round of localized slick conditions into early Friday morning.

Looking ahead, snow and freezing fog are likely Friday, with temperatures peaking at 36°F before transitioning to a rain-snow mix later in the day. Saturday offers a break, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 36°F, though another system may bring a slight chance of snow Saturday night into Sunday.

Residents are advised to monitor weather updates, avoid travel during freezing fog conditions, and prepare for variable road conditions over the next several days.
