Flagstaff, AZ – Residents of northern Arizona should prepare for light rain and snow showers today, with temperatures reaching a high near 46°F. A rain-snow mix is expected through late afternoon, leading to potentially slick roads and reduced visibility. Travelers should exercise caution, especially along I-40 and other major routes.

According to the National Weather Service, precipitation chances peak at 20%, primarily between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., before skies begin to clear tonight. Low temperatures will dip to 24°F overnight, accompanied by calm west winds at 3 to 6 mph.

The extended forecast offers relief for weekend travelers. Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 49°F, with light wind conditions making for safer driving. Friday night temperatures will drop to 24°F, but the dry air will persist into Saturday.

Looking ahead, Saturday will remain partly cloudy, with a high of 59°F and minimal wind gusts. Sunday and Monday promise clear skies and abundant sunshine, with highs climbing to 57°F and 55°F respectively. These conditions are ideal for outdoor activities as the holiday weekend concludes.

Drivers are urged to monitor road conditions closely today and prepare for icy patches as temperatures drop after sunset. Officials recommend carrying an emergency kit if traveling overnight or through higher elevations.
