Wilmington, NC – Travelers across Southeast North Carolina can expect smooth conditions as clear skies and mild temperatures dominate the week. Sunshine will persist through Saturday, but weekend plans may face interruptions with potential rain.

According to the National Weather Service, Christmas Day will bring sunny skies with highs near 56°F and lows dropping to 35°F at night. Northeast winds of 7 to 10 mph will add a chill, so dressing warmly for outdoor activities is advised. Beachgoers in Myrtle Beach and Georgetown, SC, should prepare for brisk evenings, as temperatures dip into the 30s.

On Thursday, mostly sunny conditions will continue with a high of 56°F and a low of 40°F. Friday will warm slightly to 63°F, perfect for post-holiday errands or travel. However, by Saturday night, a chance of rain emerges, especially in Wilmington and nearby areas, with showers predicted to start after 1 a.m. Sunday may bring a 50% chance of rain, affecting outdoor plans.

Drivers along I-40 and Highway 17 should take precautions on Sunday, as wet roads could slow travel. For those traveling to the beaches, Saturday looks favorable with highs near 71°F, but pack for potential rain later.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the sunny weather while it lasts and stay updated on changing conditions as the weekend nears.
