Camp Sherman, OR – A winter storm is set to bring heavy snow to the Oregon Cascades beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing through Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for elevations above 4,000 feet, warning of hazardous conditions.

According to the advisory, snow accumulation is expected to reach 4 to 8 inches, with wind gusts up to 45 mph. Key areas include Camp Sherman, Sisters, La Pine, and Sunriver. Snow levels are forecast to hover around 4,500 feet, affecting mountain passes.

Officials caution drivers to expect reduced visibility and difficult travel conditions, particularly at higher elevations. The combination of snow and gusty winds may also result in downed tree branches.

Travelers are urged to slow down and check road conditions on tripcheck.com or by calling 511 before venturing out.

Stay informed and prepare for potential delays if crossing the Cascades.
