Nashville, TN – Mild temperatures and intermittent rain showers are set to shape Middle Tennessee’s weather as residents head into the holiday week. Christmas Day could bring rain to the region, impacting travel plans and outdoor celebrations.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville, Monday’s sunny and cool conditions, with highs near 53 degrees, will transition to partly cloudy skies and lows in the mid-30s overnight. Rain chances begin late Tuesday night, with a 50% likelihood of showers on Christmas Day.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious, especially along major roadways like I-65, as rain could create slick surfaces. The warming trend will bring daytime highs near 55 degrees on Christmas Day, providing a milder backdrop for holiday activities. However, wet roads and potential delays should be factored into travel plans.
By midweek, temperatures will rise further, reaching the upper 50s by Thursday and Friday. Rain chances persist through the weekend, with Saturday expected to see the heaviest precipitation. The forecast projects a 60% chance of showers that day, and temperatures will range from the high 40s at night to near 60 degrees during the day.
Residents planning last-minute holiday shopping or travel should monitor updated forecasts and prepare for wet conditions. While no severe weather is expected, the ongoing rain pattern could disrupt outdoor events.
