Houston, TX — Showers and patchy fog are set to impact Houston Sunday, creating slick roads and reduced visibility for drivers.
The National Weather Service predicts rain moving in early Sunday morning, with scattered showers lingering throughout the day. A 60% chance of precipitation is expected, coupled with patchy fog that could disrupt visibility, particularly on I-45 and Highway 59. Highs will reach the mid-60s, while rainfall amounts should remain under a quarter of an inch.
According to the National Weather Service, some thunderstorms could develop by the late afternoon, especially between 4 and 5 p.m. Although storms are not expected to be severe, localized heavy rainfall could create hazardous driving conditions. Residents are urged to allow extra travel time and use caution when driving in areas prone to flooding.
Overnight, conditions will improve slightly as rain diminishes to 20% and patchy fog continues. Low temperatures will hover around 61 degrees with southwest winds at 5 mph.
Looking ahead to Monday, morning fog will clear by 10 a.m., giving way to sunny skies and highs near 79. Tuesday and Wednesday will offer a break from the rain, with mostly sunny conditions and cooler highs in the low 60s. Nights will see lows dropping into the upper 30s, providing a crisp and dry stretch midweek.
Drivers and outdoor planners should remain cautious on Sunday and look forward to improved conditions by Monday.
