Las Vegas, NV – A cold front has arrived in southern Nevada, bringing below-normal temperatures and prompting locals to bundle up today. Forecast highs in Las Vegas will only reach 57°F, nearly 9°F below seasonal averages. Early commuters along I-15 and I-215 should prepare for brisk conditions and carry extra layers.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), clear skies will dominate the region today, with low temperatures dipping to 41°F overnight. Winds from the north-northwest at 5-8 mph will add a slight chill, though conditions will remain dry.
By Wednesday, sunny weather continues with highs climbing slightly to 62°F. Nights, however, will stay cool, hovering around 41°F. Temperatures will gradually warm as the week progresses, with Thursday seeing highs near 66°F and Friday reaching 69°F. By Saturday, the area is expected to rebound to a comfortable 73°F under mostly sunny skies.
This week’s cold snap is attributed to a high-pressure system funneling cooler air into the Southwest. While no precipitation is forecast, the sharp drop in temperatures may catch some off guard. Residents are encouraged to dress warmly during morning hours and ensure heaters are functioning properly.
Drivers should also check tire pressure, as colder weather can cause fluctuations, particularly along stretches of I-15. Those planning outdoor activities this weekend can look forward to milder weather as conditions normalize.
Stay updated with local forecasts for any changes and prepare for a mix of cool days and crisp nights ahead.
