Will County, IL – A domestic disturbance in Monee early Sunday morning escalated into a fatal shooting on the 26100 block of Plum Tree Lane. Police responded at approximately 2:15 a.m., finding a woman standing in the front yard who reported a man inside.
Officers discovered a 39-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders provided treatment at the scene before transporting him to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The woman involved was also taken to St. James for further evaluation. Authorities secured a weapon at the scene and confirmed that the area posed no further threat to the public. Monee Police, with the assistance of the Will County Major Crimes Task Force, are spearheading the investigation.
