
Greenville, CA – California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers uncovered a staggering drug haul valued at $3 million after stopping a speeding van on State Route 89 near Willow Way. The incident, which occurred around 8:50 p.m. on October 22, revealed over 1,000 pounds of processed marijuana concealed inside the vehicle.

CHP officers had stopped the van for exceeding the posted speed limit of 55 mph. However, both the driver and passenger fled on foot into a wooded area, abandoning the vehicle. Inside the van, officers discovered 1,012 pounds of marijuana wrapped in large black bags.
With help from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, CHP continues efforts to locate the suspects. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek leads on those involved. CHP urges anyone with information on the case to contact their Quincy office at 530-283-1100.
