Duluth, MN – A significant weather shift is expected across Minnesota this week as a cold front moves in, bringing much cooler temperatures and the possibility of snow showers by midweek. After a warm start to the week, with highs ranging from 66-78 degrees Monday and Tuesday, the state will see a sharp drop in temperatures as the front approaches.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will bring a 20-30% chance of showers and thunderstorms across the region, with northern parts of Minnesota potentially experiencing a light rain-snow mix by Tuesday night. The cold front is expected to significantly impact temperatures, bringing highs down to 41-49 degrees by Wednesday and lows into the upper 20s in some areas.

The cooler weather will persist through the remainder of the week. Wednesday will likely be breezy with lingering showers, while Thursday may see a 10-20% chance of light rain before conditions clear up by Friday. Snow showers are most likely in northern Minnesota, particularly late Tuesday into early Wednesday, with accumulations expected to be light.

The cold front marks the end of the unseasonably warm conditions that have lingered through much of October. By Friday, temperatures will moderate slightly, with highs in the low 50s to low 60s. Overnight lows will remain chilly, dipping into the upper 20s and low 30s.
