Corpus Christi, TX — A high-risk rip current warning and coastal flood advisory are in effect for the Middle Texas coast through Saturday. Local officials urge residents and visitors to stay cautious around coastal waters as swells from Hurricane Helene reach the area. The most dangerous conditions are expected around high tide, increasing the risk of flooding and strong currents.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers Aransas, Kleberg, Nueces, and Calhoun islands. Waves could cause coastal flooding up to one foot and create hazardous swimming conditions. Beachgoers should avoid entering the water and monitor weather updates closely.

Starting Friday, the weather in Corpus Christi is forecasted to remain mostly sunny with temperatures reaching 87°F. However, strong coastal winds are expected to persist, maintaining dangerous rip currents through the weekend. Locals driving along U.S. 181 and Padre Island Drive should stay vigilant for potential road flooding.
