Peoria Police Investigate Aggravated Battery: Teen Shot in the Chest

Peoria, IL – A 16-year-old boy is recovering after a shooting on West Kettelle Street late Friday night. Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 9:41 p.m. and arrived at the 1900 block of West Kettelle Street. However, officers did not find any victims or suspects at the scene.

About eight minutes later, officers received information that the injured teen had been taken to a nearby hospital by private vehicle. The boy sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

The Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Scene Unit, and Patrol Unit responded to the scene to gather evidence and initiate an investigation. Police are still working to identify suspects in the case, but no information has been released yet.
