Norman, OK – Oklahoma residents brace for another scorching day as dangerous heat grips the state. Temperatures will soar above 105°F across much of Oklahoma, with southwest areas seeing heat indices climb between 110°F and 115°F. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories to alert residents of the extreme conditions.
On Thursday afternoon, places like Altus and Lawton will experience some of the highest heat indices, reaching near 109°F. The intense heat will continue on Friday and Saturday, with the hottest conditions expected across western Oklahoma and northern Texas.
Although a slight chance of rain exists early Thursday morning in eastern and central Oklahoma, relief from the heat remains unlikely. The NWS forecasts only a minimal 15% chance of storms on Friday morning in southeast Oklahoma, offering little hope for cooling.
