Southwestern Indiana – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Southwestern Indiana, effective until midnight. Residents in the area should be prepared for the possibility of damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes as a strong storm system moves through the region.  The storm, which has already affected neighboring states, is expected to bring severe weather to Indiana during the evening hours, with the greatest risk occurring late in the night.

According to the NWS, the storm’s intensity may increase as it moves into the area, posing a serious threat to life and property. Local officials are urging residents to remain indoors and stay informed by following local weather updates. In addition to the threat of severe storms, heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas and near rivers.
